it is not the same to say britney and britney spars, nowadays we call britney spears just "britney" but before the album in zone we used to call her "britney spars" and tha's not becouse we got borring about saying tha long name "britney spears" it's just because when we say britney spears we are naming the girl who was on the top of the world, the girl who made many spectacular pepsi's comersial (advertasiment), the girl who got number one records and hits.
that girl that nowadays it's just britney and that doesn't mean that she's less famous than before, but we must agree that "britney" is just a peace of that britney spears.
what do you think about it?

Nope. It's just in the mind of the public, there is just one Britney, therefore it is unecessary to use her surname. Like when you're with your group of friends and each person's name is unique, there is no reason to tack on their last name when you refer to them. So, just for ease and because she is so damn famous, she is called "Britney". To me, just calling her "Britney" without the "Spears" part of it is also endearing in a way, kind of like talking about/to people you know, you don't use their last name. Regardless, she is amazing beyond words and I love her to frikken death.

nope for me no difference dood.
Britney will always b Britney
because there is one and only britney.
Nah, it's just the fact that she is so famous that people know her already. BRITNEY is just BRITNEY.

They (media) don't have to use her last name, 'cause Brit is so freakin' famous!

i thought you were talking about how we the fans call her, no how the media or tv shows call her
in that case, i think youre right, is just britney, for me bacuse now a days we all know who theyre talking about

o.k i posted this topic for all fans, but the fans who have followed since "baby one more time" can see the diferences, if u watch her perfomances her interviews and all those kind o f things you can see how she is introduced, they say " this is britney spears" give it up for britney spears" (watch mtv vma 1999 until TRL 2003 in time squere in the zone dvd).
you'll see the diference.........
I'm with YourDailyBritney and some of u guys, I call her by her name cos it's like I know her more, I didn't call her like that when she had just become known, cos she was new to me too. When I say Britney Spears is normally to keep some more distance is some way, dunno really know how to explain it,o r maybe sometimes to say all that that "name" represents..I think "Britney" is more for what she means to me after all this years and everything

..Think possitive; --Act possitive ..
I call her Britney because I feel as if I know her better now because I check up on what she is doing every single day. Its kinda like when you call your best friend every day. You wouldn't say her first and last time every time you addressed her.

In my own mind, the transition to 'first name basis' sources from the feeling that we know her. She's not a stranger to us because the media coverage has made her life a part of ours.
for me theres no diference, i call her britney, britney spears, brit, or sometimes just B.............is the same for me, i know who she is, it doesnt matter how we call her
