Britney Spears may have had a tough time at last year's Video Music Awards, but she'll have a chance to redeem herself this year.
She is up for the show's top honor – video of the year – for "Piece of Me." The video was also nominated by the singer's fans for best pop video and best female video.
Other nominees in the category include the Jonas Brothers for "Burnin Up," Chris Brown's "Forever," the Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up," and the Ting Tings' "Shut Up and Let Me Go."
Lynne Spears was an ordinary mother whose life became extraordinary when the success of her daughter Britney pushed the Spears family onto the worldwide stage. Now, speaking out for the first time in her new memoir, Lynne sets the record straight. In Pop Culture Mom, she reveals a rarely glimpsed view of herself and her family-including celebrity daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn, son Bryan, and ex-husband Jamie.
It has been comfirmed that he is NOT working with Britney on her upcoming album. He’s probably peeved of when Britney didn’t work with him that time, with Justin I believe!
BRITNEY has ordered her vast entourage to start carrying professional video cameras around to film her every move, 24/7.

A year after her rocky performance, Britney Spears is re-teaming with the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 26-year-old singer has shot a promo for the September 7 show with host Russell Brand.
The spot is “mostly ad-libbed, with Russell asking her for advice about hosting the show,” a source tells E!. “There’s also a 9,000-pound elephant in it, as in ‘the elephant in the room.’”
Though it remains unlikely Spears will perform again this year, MTV president Van Toffler has said: “Everyone deserves a second or third chance … who knows?”
Britney Spears has refuted reports she has accepted a role in Quentin Tarantino's next project as a "murderous lesbian stripper."
British newspaper the Daily Mirror claims Spears was set to play exotic dancer Varla in a remake of the 1965 movie Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!.
But a spokesman for Spears denies she is working with Tarantino.
The representative says, "Though she definitely intends to explore acting roles down the road, right now she’s concentrating on recording her next album."
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Britney is doing the utmost to stay out of the limelight and lay low, and just focus on her work. She is determined to be taken seriously by the courts, she wants regular drug and alcohol tests to prove she is a reformed mum. She thinks that by ditching the pink wigs and bad boyfriends it will help her case."
And a representative for Federline has agreed officials could review the couple's current custody agreement - and allow Spears a more active role in her kids' upbringing.
