"If U Seek Amy" Video Review

It has often been said that you can’t judge a book by its cover, and when it comes to Britney Spears' new music video (the third off her platinum-selling album Circus) for “If U Seek Amy,” truer words were never spoken.
The song itself has garnered much attention and scrutiny for assumed "hidden obscenity" in the lyrics, because if you quickly say the title, If U Seek Amy, it may sound as if you are saying something naughty. Maybe that’s the case, but then again, maybe it’s not. When it comes to Britney, one can never be too sure. But as for the video itself, it has its own double identity, which seems to me to be the point that Britney is trying to make with her latest effort. At the start of the video, a sultry Britney wakes up in a room full of scantily clad people, after what appears to have been a night of revelry. But as she shakes off the sex kitten within, she morphs into the happy homemaker facade that so many pressure her to be. And Brit is more than willing to play along... but only to a point.
From the time that Britney burst onto the scene 10 years ago, she was immediately branded as America's Sweetheart — which can be a heavy burden to carry. When society sees you as this perfect being, every little crack and flaw in that perfection is instantly pounced upon and exploited. For years, we refused to see Britney as anything but one way when, in fact, she (like any person) is far more complex than the cookie-cutter notion projected upon her.
Just like the lyrics of her latest single can be misconstrued as naughty and offensive, her normal, human wants and needs can be interpreted as anything but. So if you seek Britney, you may want to look beyond the pretty picture you see on the outside. She, like all of us, has a lot more to offer than what’s portrayed on the outside. What you see isn't always what you get... and really, isn't that all just part of the fun?

I heard five of the first tracks Britney put together and told her and all of you what I thought about how well her album would do and it did meet up to all the great words I fortold her and how good I thought the album would do.
I even sent flowers on opening day of her release a week earlyer and thay got sent back wilted cause I messed up the street address.Sorry you never got that boukey,would like to send some flowers like Roses when an if you're tour comes to and end,I'm sorry for not being in DC or New York where You guys had me Vip tickets,Please don't take it as rejection but as my personal live was interfearing from any possibilitie of connecting with you at that time.

You got my Shakealegg when I invited Ya too Fatt Tuna'a in Delaware and I went to Wilmington DElaware looking for those five missing Ladies who danced it with me found my female friends car with stangers driving it reported to police and they wanted me to contact my friends Grand parents in Millville and whoever,whatever and however these five ladies were at the mercie of whatever they got themselves into,

I was offered MTV at one of those sites and Even StevenKing E-mailed me about a book deal as wanting to be my Publisher months back at this web site,I offered to Be Britneys nanny while on tour since Kevin UNderline didn't want to travel with her I've been offering Legal advice shes following and God is good God is great,Let some blessing be on Her and me,and the rest of her family.
I even offered to go to Church with her on Easter Sunday but her tour got in the way,but some of her same dreams I've had and a Man Dressed in Black whats wrong with that if you can provide and do whats necessary what more is there then true Love for each other,Britney and Me. Trent definitely reflects a lot of my own opinions on Britney. But as Britney did in her For The Record inside peek, she invites us to see beyond the success that she is to the woman and mother that she is, the humanity behind the phenomenon.
I think Britney has been cluing us in on the reality of her humanity in all her songs and that's why i love B, because every song is another perspective and revelation.
Touch of My Hand....
Slave 4 U & Me Against the Music are particular stellar examples, especially the lyric for Slave 4 U, where what Britney is singing about is a universal story for men and women.who love to dance or just enjoy great music.

Loved this blog...very true. I like how the video serves as a metaphor for the two very different extremes of her personality. I'd think that the "real" Britney is the private one that we don't see too often; a happy medium between these two sides
