Seeking Britney-Obsessed Writers and Designers...

Ha ha hee hee ha ha OH, hi guys! I haven't seen too much creativity from y'all lately, sadness. I'm majorly jonesing, so I've got TWO If U Seek Amy-inspired contests for you. Take your time with these 'cause I want them to be amazing, k?

♥ Contest #1: Writers
Many of you have already started to come up with concepts for Britney's "If U Seek Amy" music video, which is soo awesome. I want you to do just that — in 500 words or less, give me a detailed description of what you'd like to see done for her music video. Feel free to be as creative as you'd like by using photos, examples, scene descriptions, etc. Best one will land on the Britney.com home page in the much-coveted "Fans Speak Out" section (usually reserved for entertainment writers and magazine editors.) As a writer myself, I know for a fact that this would make for a damn good portfolio clip... you know, if you want to blog for Britney.com someday! (J/k... then I'd be out of a job. ) One more thing: Spellcheck is your friend — use it. Email your entries to TheRealBRITannica@gmail.com (SUBJECT: video concept). Deadline: Sunday, January 25.

♥ Contest #2: Designers
I'm taking a cue from my friends — I wanna see your "If U Seek Amy" single cover designs. Two rules: Please spell the song title correctly. It's "If U Seek Amy." None of this "If You Seek Amy" business. And you must incorporate the photo below. Click here for the hi-res version. The rest is totally up to you. Best ones will be featured on Britney.com, as well as in our VIP Art Gallery, which will be up later this month. (It's only for cool people, aka I call the shots.) Email your entries to TheRealBRITannica@gmail.com (SUBJECT: single cover). Deadline: Sunday, January 25.

Britney Spears’ former manager claims that the comeback claimed by Britney and company is a real bummer. John Wright who has worked with Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and the Jonas Brothers claimed that it was too early for Britney to claim that it was a comeback.

Answers to your questions:
1. "After the jump" is just blogger speak for "read more"... In Britney.com's case, when I say "after the jump," it means you can click on the "MORE" button to see more than just what's on the home page. As for why it's called a "jump," your guess is as good as mine!

2. "If U Seek Amy" lyrics... well, I'm just going to tell you that you can interpret that however you want. That's the beauty of song lyrics.

Two questions

Okey, so I have two questions.

1, BRITannica and all the other Britney-bloggers out there often write about things that has happened/will happen "after the jump". What does that mean? What is 'the jump'?

2, I'm totally thrilled that "If U Seek Amy" is the next single, it's one of my favourites. But I don't understand the lyrics. What does "are begging to if U seek Amy" mean? It doesn't make any sense. :S

Answers would be deeply appreciated.

Ps. Omg, I am so angry at myself for not buying tickets to one of the Circus concerts in London when I had the opportunity. And now they're all sold out...

BRITannica - this is a really cool idea (Britney fans love to be heard so it's good to solicit ideas in advance rather than hearing people complain and try to change after the fact.) Wondering if ideas are merely for a contest or whether worthy ones will be passed on to Jive and Britney's people.

I'm not going to be overly strict about the 500 words, I just want you guys to keep it fairly short. When you do a word count in say, Microsoft Word, it automatically counts 'em up. Use as many letters as you'd like! xx
