I'm so confused. Why bring a completely different artist into a completely unnecessary competition with someone who's obviously going to get the home field advantage anyway?
Christina Aguilera is an artist who has never been anything like Britney Spears. They attract two completely different crowds. Christina's first album was more sensual where as Britney's appealed to a younger audience with a more poppy sound. As of late, Christina's music has been more personal and seems to be better accepted by a more matured generation. Britney's most recent albums were more fun and seemed to target a younger party-type generation.
All in all, both are completely talented in their own ways. I personally would love some sort of a duet or remix where both parties are involved, but only because it brings audiences and fans together.
For example, Lady Gaga recently did a remix of "Lovegame" with Marilyn Manson lending his vocals. I personally love both of these artists and was very shocked to see that fans on both sides were considering the other as acceptable music. Of course there are those close-minded individuals who are more stubborn than a tree and can't be moved either way, but overall, the two sides were coming together and that's what this should be about. Not a debate over who's better.
