Just got word that Britney will be making an appearance at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards next week! Brit will be honored with the Ultimate Choice Award, in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry. She continues to hold the world record as the female artist with the most Teen Choice Surfboard Awards. B is also up for Choice Female Artist, Choice Single and Choice Tour. Tune in to FOX at 8pm ET on Monday, August 10 to catch a glimpse of our girl... and to see her win, thanks to the votes from us hardcore B fans! xx♥

Actually, the news isn't very confusing at all. If an appearance was only confirmed by Britney.com and BritneySpears.com then an appearance is all you should expect. FOX and E! news means nothing without a confirmation from Britney's management and label.
I didn't attempt to come off rude by the way, just tried to make a point that news isn't real "news" unless it was confirmed by an official spokesperson for the story at hand. In this case, the only official news sources for Britney Spears are Britney.com and BritneySpears.com.
I hope that clears up the confusion for you all

I remember looking forward to seeing Britney appear on things like this when I was younger, and now, 11 years later, I still get bats in my stomach when I'm about to see her !!
