Regardless of who Britney is or who she is portrayed to be... I honestly hope she accepts help and finds who she truly is... not as a singer, not as a performer, not as a star, but as a person... as a human being. She deserves happiness and love just as much as any other person in the world. I am not going to try to diagnose her problems, or pretend I know the answer. I will not judge her for what she is going through. I just can't even imagine going through this in the public eye!
I am personally struggling with depression at this time, and I cannot help but feel a connection with her... I can understand what she may be going through. If she is struggling with a mental illness, I hope people learn and understand that it is an actual "disease." It is something that cannot be helped and must be treated just like diabetes or heart disease. I can only hope that Britney's public struggles will eventually bring about an open dialog about mental illness without shame.
The Silver Ribbon Coalition promotes public awareness of the need for emotional, social, governmental, and research support of individual who are affected by a brain disorder or disability, such as mental illness. So wear a Silver Ribbon for Britney! No, I don't work for the Silver Ribbon Coalition.... I just believe in it so much. And I believe in supporting those in need, like Britney. And not because I am her fan, but because I actually care about her wellbeing... as a person.
So let's hope she accepts the help she needs and becomes the authentic woman she so deserves to be! Whatever that may be! All my best to her... and may her public struggle help me and all others who are privately struggling!
