I've been a Britney fan since I was 5 years old, I'm now 15, and January will mark my 10th year as a Britney fan. When I started out, I liked Britney solely for her music, and that's still my primary reason for being a fan, but over the years I've added these things to the list:
1. She's inspiring. A small town girl who's dreams of singing and being a star came true, and I've always loved singing, ever since I was little, but it wasn't until after I started listening to Britney that I was like, "I want to be a singer!" so she definitely influenced me that way.
2. She's a performer. I took dance classes before I began voice lessons, granted this was many years after I decided I wanted to be a singer, but I don't know that I would've gotten anywhere, singing-wise if I hadn't listened to Britney when I was younger. Anyway, I started voice lessons, my voice wasn't terrible, I wasn't atrociously off-key or anything, but I was rough, unpolished, and not using my full potential, also for some reason my voice seemed to be stuck in my head-voice singing wise, when usually the chest voice is the default. Anyway, while I was taking lessons, my voice teacher mentioned Britney and how she performed, when she sang she also danced or if nothing else had people dancing behind her. So that really gave me something to think about because I was into the singing and dancing and I took an acting class, so I would've classified myself as a performer.
3. She's a southern girl. Yeah, this might be a stupid reason, but I was born in the south, Georgia, to be specific, and while I moved to California and have lived here most of my life, I still feel a connection to Britney in that way. Like it's something we have in common.
4. She seems very humble and like a regular person. Okay, I admit, I love a singing diva as much as the next person, if nothing else for their flair and sense of style. But Britney seems just kind of homegrown even after all she's been through, she just seems normal.
So those are just a few reasons why I'm a Britney fan, keeping in mind that above all these reasons, I love her music!
Lace and Leather!!
I vote Lace and Leather. I mean COME ON, it's just BEGGING for airtime, it's such a good song and would take Britney (Who is already soaring high beyond the rest of pop music) to the next level. Not making Lace and Leather a single would be like if Michael Jackson hadn't made Smooth Criminal a single!
