Not Britney, in my opinion.

Have you ever thought of it--Britney vs. the McCanns? Britney has made a mistake or two here and there--no harm done, whereas the McCanns made a mistake that was really actually a choice--and a grave one, with irreversible consequences. Let's compare their parenting, shall we:

The McCanns were on vacation, and left their two toddlers alone in a hotel room six nights in a row while they drank with friends. That almost a big neon sign pointing to their kids screaming "KIDNAP, KIDNAP!!". And what do you know. Their pretty little girl, Madeleine McCann goes missing. It's been a year now and the case grows colder each day. The most recent evidence suggests that Madeleine was probably raped and killed. As of now, divers on expensive private funding by a lawyer are groping around murky waters in a deep resevoir, hoping to recover her body. The McCanns made perhaps one of the most irresponsible choices a parent could make. But they have the world on their side.

At the same time, this "deeply sympathetic" world makes a big deal out of Britney Spears "ALMOST dropping" her baby while being assaulted by paps, or "driving with her son on her lap" because he was crying in the back seat after the paps scared the poor kid half to death. Oooh, Britney is a horrible mom because she parties and drinks and does drugs--because she's the ONLY mother in the WORLD who still wants to have fun because she is a young, beautiful, popular, and rich, and because doing drugs is absolutely the most HORRIBLE thing a human being could do, especially when they are surrounded by that crap 24/7 and everyone else in and out of the industry does it too.

Quick summary: the McCanns LOST their baby because they chose to drink instead of take care of them or even bother to make sure they were taken care of. Britney? Britney made a couple mommy mistakes and acted human, but her babies are happy and healthy minus they miss their mommy like no other--okay, what the hell, pray for the McCanns and lets go kick Britney in the face and hope she dies because she is a horrible parent.

It is amazing how messed up the world is, with their endless sympathies for the McCanns for being irresponsible, and their abyssmal hatred for Britney Spears for making normal mommy mistakes.

PS: Disclaimer: I do feel for the McCanns--I really do. It's one of those things where you make one bad decision because you didn't think it over enoug, and you live to regret it. It's pain, it's torture, and it's every day. They have got to be heartbroken to have lost such a beautiful little girl, and it's really sad--but still, you cannot deny, even one bit, that it was completely their fault, and could have completely been prevented.
