My Reviews & Blog

  • Since re-reading the little "scene" that I wrote in my blog, I have figured out in what book that I want to add it to, and have been expanding it in my mind. That is usually how it works for me. Sometimes I have to re-read my work, but sometimes everything just comes tumbling out.

And Happy Thanksgiving to Brit and everyone else.

  • Able to read a little bit more lately, so that is what I have been doing. I'm surprised at being able to do so too. I need to write a little bit soon, I have a few more books to finish.
I read "The Law of Nines," by Terry Goodkind (interesting first name, don't you agree?). It was interesting. The arguments offered were a bit repetitive, almost verbatim at different points (I did something similar, but I hope I altered the argument each time sufficiently enough not to be that repetitive). The subject was magic but it could have related to technology (which was inferred and was a related topic). It was an okay read all the same. It was an interesting way to write about magic though, or even technology (as some would think technology is magical if they saw it for the first time).
One point was made that was very interesting. What would happen if technology suddenly stopped working all at once? The result is kind of the same as would occur if a nuclear device were to detonate over an area, without the fallout. People could not grow food, go to work, there would be no electricity so food would spoil, accounts would suddenly have nothing in them. Everything would be regional again, or less. Bands would start to form again. People would have to grow their own food. Masses would die off.

  • Yeah, a lot of things seem to be getting hacked lately. The odd part is that I don't do wireless, so that leaves the phoneline or the outlet (It hasn't cut off when not connected yet, although my laptop has overheated and shut down. Elecbox is indoors). I've heard that wifi systems can be hacked, and maybe with all of the stupid cellphone - junkmail - messages those can be too. Creativity is one thing, but messing up someone else's stuff that does not affect anyone is really idiotic. I'm not sure about Apps, but I know that apple computers are usually not hacked, or not as much, could the better phones be similar?
2 different apartments would suggest a problem with the computer, perhaps, but the lack of cutting off while not connected at both places suggests otherwise too. Could the computer be overheating too? Probably not, it restarts too quickly afterwards, the laptop won't start at all.
