I'm a big Britney fan and I love her but guys, no. For as long as Madonna is still alive, Madonna will be the Queen of Pop. Britney will have to settle for Princess. Madonna is the only female artist to be recognized as the Queen of Pop by critics and everyone who matters in the music industry. Everyone already accepts Britney as the Princess so let's just be happy with that and not step on other artists. Let us respect Madonna like her respect towards Britney. Madonna is the Queen of Pop, y'all.

For the record, Beyonce may have a better voice and better whatever at the movies, but she is no where near Britney's success, her phenomenon, and her sales. So let's just exclude her from Pop titles. Oh and Lady GaGa, too. She may have a hit album and hit singles but she hasn't proven anything other than one hit album. Until Beyonce and Lady GaGa matches Britney's 5 multiplatinum #1 albums, 8 worldwide #1s, and 80+ million record sales, then will I accept them to be in the running for Pop Princess. I don't care if Beyonce has more Grammy Awards than Britney. It's all in the record sales. Those Grammy awards that Beyonce got was judged by how many people? 100? Whereas Britney's record sales are up to 87 million. 87 million people matter, than the mere 100 who opted for Beyonce.

I'll quote Sal Cinquemani of Slant Magazine:

"The disparity between Aguilera and Spears can't be measured solely by the timbre and octave range of their voices ... [Aguilera's] popularity has never reached the fever pitch of Britney's."

So true. And the same goes for Beyonce and Lady GaGa.
