My Reviews & Blog
Hope I'm proven wrong, but feeling a bit used after 'our Miss Britney's' return engagement on 'How I Met Your Mother' sitcom CBS Monday night, Britney's star power seemed to be cynically used to boost viewership. Even though Abby's presence did advance a story arc initiated in April, the script struck me as overly contrived.
If the show's picked up for another season and further appearances are offered, I'd like to see more dimension in her character.
Extra Team Britney abstracts a news item from The Sun quoting unnamed 'label bosses' asserting that 'Blackout' received a 'poor reception', certainly not my impression.
Whichever 'label bosses' feel that way should be unceremoniously shown the door, pronto.
'They always blame the workers but it's usually bad management.' With that kind of client disloyalty in the company, no wonder Britney's 'alter ego' in 'Break the Ice' anime' wants to 'blow this joint'.
Thoughtful comments concerning Britney Spears, attributed to 'the pop music godness with the JC-associated first name' BBC interview, abstracted by Extra Team Britney from 'Digital Spy', are welcome, even though I expect the 'pity party' 'round here speedily coming to a close with 'our Miss Britney's' much-anticipated return appearance on CBS-TV sitcom, 'How I Met Your Mother' this evening.
I celebrate the day 'duh media' ceases annexing a 'T' to Britney's given name.
If Miss Britney chooses to resume live stageshows, my preference would be to see lots of flash, color and glamour. 'All-American girl' motif (sugar & spice & everything nice) befits her A-game demeanor, sunny personality that made her a star.
The caption is intended to reference 'Our Miss Brooks', a 1950s situation comedy whose central character was a smart-as-a-whip single woman.
If Britney's appearances on CBS' 'How I Met Your Mother' result in TV comedy work casting her as the lead, 'Our Miss Brooks' could plausibly serve as underlying template.
NHL=National Hockey League -or- 'National Home League' (an 'Uncle Frank-ism')
New entry, 'Tower of Babel in Our Times' (Lotsa Lingo) currently pg. 9 this blog.
Thanks to Jimmy Kimmel Live (on tape), 4/15/08 re-broadcast.
Although 'Kinho's' plotline for 'Break the Ice' (de-flowering of a priest) is too raw for MTV, it does reflect a core theme of the song.
Our Miss Britney's fan base, at least as evidenced by this site, is smart...very smart
The emergence of a 'sounds like Britney' presentation, 'Something More' from Rebecca Rudolf, calls to mind thought I'd posted on 'Music Mind of Tristan Spears' last Fall.
Elvis Presley, the 'King of Rock 'n Roll', won his only Grammy for inspirational works (what's now termed 'Christian Contemporary Music'). Exploration of this genre could comprise new and potentially dynamic chapter in 'our Miss Britney's' music career. Focusing her energies on spiritually uplifting subject matter should engender positive 'vibes' in her own life.
Thought there'd be considerably more hoopla accompanying 'my old flame', Ms MLVCR's newest album debut this week. Perhaps the media world's taking her for granted.
They shouldn't.
Following an 'en banc' re-hearing Wednesday evening (after napping so was awake and alert throughout, using cheap is dear and dearly beloved 'Audiovox' CD player rather than Sony 'boom boom box'~minimal bass so more akin to monophonic sound I'm accustomed to hearing at the 'memorial, multi-media production center'), 'Hard Candy' is...'mighty fine'.
Wednesday night's live on-line concert presented by 'the pop music godness with the JC-associated first name' capably provided 'remote viewers' with a window on the event, but I now understand and appreciate that it's not a substitute for being there.
At least, must be taken in as group experience before a widescreen, not solo.
Nonetheless, it's a start, a work in progress and merits being further refined.
